Step One: Learn to Listen

In the New Testament, one of my favorite scripture stories is where Jesus was teaching in the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Mary was sitting at Jesus' feet as He was teaching. Martha complained to Jesus that she felt Mary should be up helping her with the household chores. Jesus said that Mary was doing the most important thing! So, we know how important it is to listen! First, listen to the Holy Spirit inside of you. Did you know that according to the Bible He lives in you? If you are a christian, He lives in you! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God." 2 Corinthians 6:16 says the same thing. So, listen to the Holy Spirit! He'll speak to your conscience to let you know right from wrong. He'll help you understand the scriptures as you read and meditate on them. He'll help you to pray with power! He'll give you courage when your flesh fails you! He'll empower you to do things like the early church did! He will help you to do marvelous things that even Jesus didn't do, because Jesus said we would do greater things than He did! Of course, only He could die for our sins, but the ministry and the miracles are for us today!

Step Two: Step Out!

Many today are hoping God will rain blessings and revelation on them, and they're just sitting around waiting on that! Waiting on God is not that! When people step out in faith, and actively do what they know to do, God will bless their actions! If you look in the old and new testament, you will find that the prophets and the apostles often didn't know what they were getting into, but they were willing to be faithful and go! You might be fearful, and you don't have to be! The Holy Spirit is in you! He will provide what you lack! He will give you boldness, and you won't always understand everything that is happening. The Spirit is like the wind; we don't always know where it is blowing, but it's powerful and we know that His Spirit is always right!

It's sad to me that in the present day, most of what we do in the church can be done without any dependence on the Spirit! The kind of discipleship that is sorely needed in 2019 is lives lived in such a manner that without the Holy Spirit working they will fail! I

Step out in faith! You know someone who would benefit from hearing of your salvation? Go tell them! You feel the need to help someone as you can? Step out and do it! Whatever you are created to do, and you begin to feel it, then do it! Read the Bible, and as it speaks to your soul about God's purpose for your life, go after it! In other words, stepping into a miracle requires us to lay down our right to be right and give up our option of understanding everything! Live it!

Step Three: Live a Life of Worship!

David, in the old testament, danced before the Lord, he mourned before the Lord, he prophesied God's Word, and he wrote part of the Holy Bible! It seems like, above all other things, David was a worshipper! Moses' greatest and most urgent request of the Lord was that he wanted to see His Face! He longed to be close to God. David said that he wished to live forever in God's presence. Psalm 23:6 says "... I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." That, my friend, is a great example of a mind to worship!

I grew up in churches where, all too often, people did church, Sunday School, and other religious activities out of a sense of obligation. David said, "I was GLAD when they said, let us go into the house of the Lord." If you have come to know Him and be known of Him, then determine in your heart to worship Him with joy!
